Approach to Residence
A new detached two-car garage faces the motor court; a stone path leads up to the residence. The path is flanked by two palm trees, with a small garden providing a landscaped view from the office bay window. To the right of the path is a fountain with seating on an axis with the kitchen window, a kitchen garden with planter boxes, and fruit trees.
Proposed Garage
A new two-car garage designed to blend with the existing residence matches its material finishes and architectural language, on a smaller scale. Includes storage areas.
Residence/Breakfast Room Addition
An expansion to the kitchen and family room includes a clerestory window to bring in more light, a mud room, a pantry, and a partial-octagon breakfast room addition. The new covered porch expansion is accessed from the kitchen or breakfast room and leads to the outdoor living areas.
Residence/Master Suite Addition
The bedroom wing has been reconfigured with a two-story windowed stair and an elevator leading to a spacious master suite. A covered wrap-around balcony overlooks the property. An outdoor shower is accessed from the master bath. The downstairs bedroom wing is reconfigured to include a nursery and Alix's office.
Proposed Office & Guest Suite
This building includes a spacious office and a large terrace with views of the property and distant hills. The ground level houses a guest suite and storage.
Proposed Gym & Art Studio
This building houses a ground level gym with an art studio above. (The upper floor could also be used as an office, if that configuration is preferred.)
Dining Pavilion & Gardens
Newly landscaped gardens include native and non-native drought tolerant plantings and natural stone pathways. The trellised dining pavilion houses a full outdoor kitchen, dining area, and fireplace feature.
