Wildcrest

Los Altos Hills, California

This contemporary five-level house, sited at the crest of a hill with views to the bay at the east and tree-covered coastal range to the west, is organized around a two-story garden atrium. A contemporary aesthetic celebrates the inherent nature of materials including ashlar set limestone, stucco and mahogany. Exposed beams and decorative rafter tails alluding to traditional Japanese wood detailing, as well as a traditional Japanese bath, are inspired by the clients’ travels.

I don’t think I’ll post this one (unbuilt) but let’s create the project and save the text. Just in case.

Hacienda

Woodside, California

An extensive remodel of this Spanish-style hacienda transformed its old-fashioned kitchen, with multiple attendant pantries and cellars, to create a spacious great room. A new clerestory above the island provides abundant natural light throughout the day.

We used just 5 of these images for G+G. It’s a small-ish project.
