Eileen Gordon
Architect
Collaborating with her clients to explore what home means to them, and integrating their specific design program with the physical building site, Eileen creates one of a kind custom homes. Her reputation is for imagination, attention to detail and craftsmanship, whether the desired aesthetic is traditional period accuracy or a more contemporary expression. She is grateful to all the firm’s wonderful clients for the many exciting opportunities they have afforded to work with top caliber artisans and fabricators around the world. With business partner William Greineder, she has been designing award-winning homes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area since 2004.
Eileen enjoyed a nomadic childhood living in Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, the United States, Japan and Germany and extensive traveling especially in the United States, Europe, Asia and North Africa with her family. She was fascinated by the differences in each culture’s buildings and cities and in seeing how architecture can both reinforce and challenge our social and civic expectations. She lived in 12 houses before graduating from high school: a uniquely practical education for a designer of custom homes.
At the University of Notre Dame, Eileen received a classical education in Beaux-Arts architecture, including a year at the University’s Rome campus. There, students are instructed in the history and theory of architecture, watercolor, and studio design. This experience encourages the development of the technical understanding necessary to merge the formal aspects of our architectural past with the requirements of our modern lives. Steeped in this traditional background, Eileen is known for creating homes that are incredible works of art: both extremely functional and stunningly beautiful.
